Arnaldo Pomodoro

Sorrento continues its promotion of great art, with the exhibition Arnaldo Pomodoro. Shores of the seas
to be held at Villa Fiorentino from 22 May to 22 November 2015.
The City of Sorrento will host Arnaldo Pomodoro and his work for us to retrace the steps of his long artistic career, he started since the fifties. Shores of the seas is not only an anthology, but a reflection on the mysterious territory of archetypes: the sea is the origin of man, from the sea the centuries have brought dangers and hopes, myths and legends, storms and beauty.
The event, curated by Flaminio Gualdoni and Gino Fienga, and organized by the Sorrento Foundation in collaboration with the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro and con- fine editions, includes the exhibition of monumental works 7 already installed in the streets of the City and Villa Fiorentino and about 100 works, including sculptures in bronze and fiberglass, graphics and art books, which will be hosted at the headquarters of the Foundation Sorrento. The works in the exhibition, the sculptures as the column of the traveler (1960), the Sphere n. 1 (1963), the Spear of Light (1985) chronicles the extraordinary cards, Letters (1977), Fragments in tribute to Emilio Villa (2004) represent the basic steps of the artistic research of Arnaldo Pomodoro.
The Foundation and the City of Sorrento continue to believe in the programming of great art events, which began with Sassu and continued with Mimmo Paladino, Biasucci Antonio, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, and finally Mario Sironi.
